Ákáshe chilo je megh
Se jakhana elo
Sakala áṋdhár sariye diye se elo

Bujhite nárinu táre
Kii je se balilo more
Práńer ákuti táháte je bhará chilo

Báhir vishva hátcháni dilo more
Shuniyá shuni ni táre
Maramera váńii kii jena se enechilo

(Áji) Calechi táhári t́áne
Mamatámadhura gáne
Háráno mádhurii sabi se phiráye dilo

আকাশে ছিলো যে মেঘ
সে যখন এলো
সকল আঁধার সরিয়ে দিয়ে সে এলো

বুঝিতে নারিনু তারে
কী যে সে বলিলো মোরে
প্রাণের আকুতি তাহাতে যে ভরা ছিলো

বাহির বিশ্ব হাতছানি দিলো মোরে
শুনিয়া শুনি নি তারে
মরমের বাণী কী যেন সে এনেছিলো

(আজি) চলেছি তাহারই টানে
মমতামধুর গানে
হারানো মাধুরী সবই সে ফিয়ায়ে দিলো

There were clouds in the sky
When He came;
To remove all gloom He came.

I could not understand Him,
What He was saying to me;
Therein was an ardent plea.

The outer world beckoned me;
I listened but could not hear
The mystic message that He brought.

Now I move on, drawn only to Him;
In His gently loving song,
All lost sweetness has been restored.
