Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Je tomáre bhálobáse
Táre kena dáo ná dhará
Liilár chale prati pale
Lukocurir e kii dhárá

Járá d́ake paráń bhare
Táder páne cáo ná phire
Liilár shoke liilár shoke
Liilár shoke liilár duhkhe
Tárá jharáy ashrudhárá

Jáni tomár liilá asheś
Liiláy dite cáo náko klesh
Nirmamatár nirmamatár
Nirmamatár nái kona lesh
Nijer mani liiláy bhará

O Lord,
why do you not allow yourself to be caught
by those who love you?

Why, on the pretext of being your divine game,
do you play hide and seek with them
each and every moment?

You do not pay attention
to those who call you with all their heart.
In the agony and pain
caused by the play of your liila',
they shed tears.

I know your liila' is endless.
You do not want to hurt anyone.
There is not a single trace of unkindness in it.
Your liila' is confined to the mind only.
