Remain United with the Supreme Benevolence is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in Kolkata, India. The discourse was delivered on the evening of 1978 November 11. This discourse is the twentieth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 4.[1]

Synopsis

So let us pray to Him that we never forget Him, that we always remain united with that Supreme Benevolence. Let Him arouse unwavering ideation in us. “Smrti” means “memory” or “recollection” and “dhruvásmrti” means “constant recollection” of Him. One should always remember one thing constantly: Parama Puruśa. This will result in the intellect being constantly full of benevolent thoughts, forever linked with the spirit of benevolence. This and this alone should be the one prayer of human beings.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that although Indian scriptures encourage people to cherish the desire for salvation, He recommends that we don't ask God for anything. If we must ask for something, then we should only ask that our intellect be led along the path of virtue. Anandamurti then explains that all the violence and clash in the world is a result of misguided intellect. Although exerting circumstantial pressure against exploiters and immoralists in society is necessary, we must at the same time encourage people to follow the path of righteousness so that individual and collective progress is achieved. Anandamurti goes on saying that our only prayer should be to never forget Him. In this way, our thoughts will remain permanently united with the Lord's boundless grace.[1]
