তোমাকে চাইছি যত যাও যে সরে
এ কী তব লীলা
আমার হয় না যে শেষ চলা

স্রোতের টানে যাচ্ছি ভেসে
ঠেকছি শেষে সমুদ্রে এসে
সেখানেও শেষ নাহি যে
ঢেউয়ের পরে ঢেউ আসে
তোমার অন্তবিহীন এ কী খেলা

ঝড়ের মুখে খড়ের মত
যাচ্ছি দেশে দেশান্তরে যত
দেশেরও সীমার শেষে
ক্লান্তি আসে অবশেষে
মোর এ গ্লানি ক্ষমা করো
বোঝো ব্যথা না-বলা

O Lord,
however much i long for you,
I keep wondering what a game of yours this is.

My movement never comes to an end.
In the flow of the stream,
I continue floating,
eventually reaching the sea.
And yet, there too, i do not find an end.
Wave after wave overwhelms me.

What an endless game of yours is this?
Like straw in a storm,
I float from place to place.
And at the end,
I am overcome with fatigue.

This agony of mine please excuse.
Understand my silent pain.
