Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi jána ámi jáni
Jánájáni shudhu du janáy
Maramer kathá kahiba káháre
Ke bá áche mor e dharáy

Kata vyathá mane gumariya mare
Kata sádh niti uṋkijhuṋki máre
Kata anutáp kata paritáp
Dagdhiyá máre du beláy

Kata din áse brthá cale jáy
Kata rát shudhu káhinii shońáy
Kata mariiciká shukáiyá jáy
Kata áshá bháse chalanáy

O lord,
You know and i know...
this mutual knowledge is confined to the two of us only.
Whom should i convey the feelings of my mind?
Who on this earth can i call my own?

How many agonies remain gathered in my mind?
How many inspiring and good policies merely peek out of it?
How much pain and repentence simultaneously burn inside me?
How many days come and pass by uselessly?
How many nights only tell stories?
How many mirages dry up and
how many hopes float away in delusion?
