Aesthetics and Mysticism is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in Vellore, India. The discourse was delivered in English on the morning of 1980 July 21. This discourse is the twentieth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 34.[1]

Synopsis

Human life is not like a flower; it is like a beautiful garden of so many flowers. Let all those flowers develop, and let the final movement of all those expressions of charm and fascination be goaded unto Parama Puruśa.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that its the dharma (innate characteristic) of human beings to become acquainted with the world of aesthetics and mysticism while moving beyond the periphery of material life. Anandamurti then says that its the duty of spiritualists to help the common people discover the subtle joys of aesthetics. Only then they can get a glimpse into sublime, mystical thought. Anandamurti goes on explaining that human life resembles a garden of many flowers. Each flower has its charming expression. Each flower must be guided toward Parama Purusa. Pleasing the Supreme Being is the purpose of all human entities.[1]
