Áṋdhár nishiithe tumi esechile
Álokera chat́á sáthe niye
(Ámár) Maru hrdimájhe diyechile svádu
Sushiitala saritá baháye

Tumi esechile niirava prahare
Mandamadhura snigdha samiire
(Ámár) Sab kśudratá sakala diinatá
Diyechile sudúre bhásáye

(Takhan) Ákásh dharańii keṋpe ut́hechilo
Sakal hiyáy chanda je chilo
(Ámár) Sab ahamiká dhúláy misháye
Amrtera kańá diye diye

আঁধার নিশীথে তুমি এসেছিলে
আলোকের ছটা সাথে নিয়ে
(আমার) মরু-হৃদিমাঝে দিয়েছিলে স্বাদু
সুশীতল সরিতা বহায়ে

তুমি এসেছিলে নীরব প্রহরে
মন্দমধুর স্নিগ্ধ সমীরে
(আমার) সব ক্ষুদ্রতা সকল দীনতা
দিয়েছিলে সুদূরে ভাসায়ে

(তখন) আকাশ ধরণী কেঁপে ঊঠেছিলো
সকল হিয়ায় ছন্দ যে ছিলো
(আমার) সব অহমিকা ধূলায় মিশায়ে
অমৃতের কণা দিয়ে দিয়ে

At darkest night You had come,
Bearing splendor of effulgence.
In my desert heart You made a tasty,
Cooling current flow.

You had come in the silent hours
On a sweet and gentle, tender breeze.
All my pettiness, all my wretchedness,
You'd washed far away.

Then earth and sky trembling had arose;
In each heart was that proneness,
All my ego mingling with the dust,
Generating flecks of ambrosia.
