Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Anek diner pare anek ghure ghure
Tomáke áj cinilám
Sakal dáhane tumi sushiitala cháyá
Jániyá náhi jánitám

Jhaiṋjhájhat́iká ráte agni utpáte
Satata ácho tumi sáthe sáthe
Ativarśańa májhe plávane ashani-páte
Áshiś áṋko máthe komala háte
Calár pathe mama náhi pátheya kona
Shudhu áche tava nám

Tamasákliśt́a ráte tumi dhruvatárá
Tomár nám nite hai ápanahárá
Sakal kśate mor tumi pralepadhárá
Deha mane jánái prańám

After a long time and so much rambling,
Today, I've finally recognized Thee.
You're the coolest shade in burning heat;
That simple fact I was not knowing.

On storm-tossed nights, stricken by calamity,
Ever and always You are with me.
Amid pouring rain, thunder and lightning,
Upon my head Your tender hand writes a blessing.
I have nothing for expenses on my journey,
What I have is Your holy name only.

You are the polestar on dark nights of misery;
Taking Your name, I forget all worries.
On my every wound, You apply a balm;
So, with body and mind, I offer pranam.[nb 2]
