Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Cira nútanke káche peyechi
Kichutei táke jete doba ná
Mohanke man májhe dharechi
Khushir joyár máná máne ná

Ámár sukher sheś náhi je go
Hrday ájike pulake bhará
Shuśka marur vishuśka taru
Pánnádyutite halo je hárá
Jáháke ceyechi táháke peyechi
Sárthak áji mor sádhaná

Surera ságare háráye giyechi
Hárár ánande hayechi sárá
Rúper kináre arúpe peyechi
Páoyár ánande ápanahárá
Báṋdhancháŕá e manke cinechi
E man máne ná kona siimáná

I've got close to the Evernew;
I will never let Him go.
In my mind, I clutch Mohan;[nb 2]
My flow of joy admits no bar.

Oh, my happiness, it is endless;
Today my heart thrills with delight.
Like a parched tree in an arid desert,
My emerald luster had been lost.
Then I attained the One I sought;
And now my holy quest is fulfilled.

In a sea of voices, I was submerged;
Bereft of glee, I grew fatigued.
Then at the shore of forms, I found the formless
And lost myself in attainment of bliss.
Free from impediment is the mind I now know;
This mind heeds no bounds.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Here, Mohan (মোহন) literally means "the one who is charming or captivating". This is a common name for Krsna and a general appellation for the Supreme.
