Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Hemante shirshire haoyáte
Se je áse se áse se je oi áse

Málaiṋce málatii jhare paŕá
Bakul belá juṋi kotháy hárá
Candramalliká báhu báŕáye
Táháre d́ákiyá jáy hese hese

Goláper kaliguli phut́e caleche
Dolancáṋpár práńe neshá dhareche
Bhramarer guiṋjan bahu ásháte
Ákásher páne jáy bhese bhese

Nirmegh ákáshe tárár phut́ki háse
Tárá sab jege áche táhári áshe

With a bracing prewinter[nb 2] breeze,
He is coming... there He appears.

In the garden, dropping are the honeysuckles;
Where have gone the medlars, jasmines, and cestrums?
Chrysanthemums, their arms outstretching,
Keep on calling Him with smiles aplenty.

Rosebuds go on blossoming,
And ginger lilies spread with drunk vitality.
Buzzing bumblebees, in great expectation,
They depart, drifting toward the heavens.

In cloudfree sky, the star-flecks twinkle,
All of them are on qui vive, hoping for Him.
