“Krsna” and “Rama” is the fourteenth discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in Patna, India. The discourse was delivered in English on the morning of 1978 August 18. This discourse is the 14th chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 1.[1]
Synopsis
The philosophical explanation is that Krśńa attracts every being: knowingly or unknowingly, each and every particle of this universe is being attracted towards the Nucleus of this entire Cosmological order. But it is the duty of beings to move towards Him. He attracts everyone. The second philosophical explanation is the feeling in the jiiva (unit being) of its “I”-ness – “I exist,” “I am.” Since He is there, this feeling of “I”-ness is there. Had Krśńa not been there, would I have remained?
Anandamurti starts the discourse by explaining the two philosophical meanings of the word Krsna. Krsna means the one who attracts everyone, the center of the cosmological array. He then describes the biological and Historical explanations of Krsna. Anandamurti goes on explaining the three meanings of Rama: The only object from which yogis extract pleasure, the brightest entity and the subjugator of all enemies.[1]
