O Lord, You do not stay away.
Oh You, remote please don't dwell;
I have threaded the garland
A wreath I thread, altar I decorate.
and decorated the altar,
A song I go on practicing for Your sake;
rehearsed the song for You,
Kindly don't forget.
please do not forget that.

For searching You,
in search of You, ever roving
wandering here and there,
Amid forest, hill, and sea...
into the mountains, oceans, and forests,
By all small and large deeds;
in all small and big actions,
From fatigue, I do not lie abed.
did not sleep due to fatigue.

Many people spoke differently ridiculing,
Many folk, in diverse ways they speak;
I continued tolerating them
I go on tolerating with a smile's veneer
with irony of smile,
Through Your name and strength of Thee–
with Your strength and name,
That don't You comprehend?
do not You know that?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Tumi) Dúre theko ná
Málá gáṋthi vedi sájái
Tomár tare gán sedhe jái
Bhule jeo ná

Ghure ghure tomár khoṋje
Páháŕ ságar vaner májhe
Chot́a baŕa sakal káje
Klántite shui ná

Nánán jane nánán bale
Sahiyá jái hásir chale
Tomár náme tomár bale
Tá ki jáno ná

Oh You, remote please don't dwell;
A wreath I thread, altar I decorate.
A song I go on practicing for Your sake;
Kindly don't forget.

in search of You, ever roving
Amid forest, hill, and sea...
By all small and large deeds;
From fatigue, I do not lie abed.

Many folk, in diverse ways they speak;
I go on tolerating with a smile's veneer
Through Your name and strength of Thee–
That don't You comprehend?
