Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ei sandhyá sindhu kúle
Astácale jáy je ravi
Ábiir gulál gule

Diner jata klesh o klánti
Cáoyá páoyár bojhár bhránti
Deoyá neoyár kaŕá kránti
D́hele ságarajale

Ásbe ábár rauṋin prabhát
Nishár sheśe svarńaprapát
Niye báṋcár ghát pratighát
Rúper púrvácale

During this evening, at the sea shore,
the sun is setting with colours
like red and pink.
All the pains and fatigue of the day,
the illusion of the loads of desires
and achievements, the minute account
of taking and giving,
it pours into the water of the sea.
The colourful morning would come again
at the end of the night,
scattering golden light, carrying with it
the remaining blows and counter blows
in the beauty of eastern sky.
