Revolt against Dogma is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in Calcutta, India. The discourse was delivered in English on the morning of 1981 May 18. This discourse is the twenty first chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 34.[1]
Synopsis
Even in the realm of the actional faculty or the intellectual faculty, or even the so-called devotional faculty, everything is not dharma, everything is not a perfect approach. There are also colours of dogma in them. So those who are spiritual aspirants should very carefully keep themselves away, rather keep themselves aloof, from these so-called approaches of spirituality, rather, from these dogmas.
Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that everything originated from Parama Purusa, and merging back in Him is everyone's destination. Fundamentally, every individual belongs to the same human family. Anandamurti then explains that in the movement towards the Supreme Consciousness, one must have the right frame of mind; whether the approach be actional, intellectual or devotional, it has to be free from dogma. Anandamurti goes on saying that Spiritual aspirants must turn their backs on such non dharmic approaches of spirituality, and rise up against dogma. No external shows need stand between a devotee and his Lord.[1]
