Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Kár tare tumi málá gáṋthiyácho
Kár patha páne ceye ácho
Ke se dúratama tabu priyatama
Mane járe dhare rákhiyácho

Amarár sudhá buke bhariyácho
Susmita phule sheja sájáyecho
Ná-balá vedaná dúre saráyecho
Cita-camelite mátiyácho

Ájike tomár keu par nái
Átmár átmiiya je sabái
Maner gahane citi-vátáyane
Árgal khule pheliyácho

The Lord is asking the devotee sa’dhaka;-
For whom You have prepared this garland.
For whom are you looking toward the path?
Who is farthest, still your Dearest,
whom you have kept in your heart?
For whom have you filled the heavenly nectar
in the bosom and decorated the bed
with smiling flowers?
For whom, ignoring away the untold sorrows
you are frenzied with camelii fragrance
in the mind? Today for You,
nobody is distant; everyone is closest
and most intimate. For whom have you kept
the doors and windows of the deep depths
of your mind?
