Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár áloke bhuvan bhareche
Kena tumi raye gecho dúre
Rasále paláshe mukul dhareche
Tumi ki jáno ná tava tare

Avaniir sárátsár tumi
Padmavediite base ácho
Kon sudúrer niilámbu theke
Smitánane shudhu dekhitecho
Áro káche eso jadi bhálabáso
Trut́i kśami prabhu krpá kare

Áloker ei mahotsave
Tumi ná ásibe ár ke ásibe
Jiivaner jaygán geye jábe
Nija mukhe nava ráge sure

O Lord, with Your effulgence the world is filled,
but why did You stay away?
Buds have appeared on the mango and pala’sh trees
for You, do not You know that?
As the essence of essence of the world,
You are seated on the lotus altar,
Staying at the distant blue water, with smiling face,
only You go on observing.
If You love me come still closer,
by forgiving my mistakes, showering Your grace, O Lord.
At the time of this great festivity of light,
if You do not come, who else will come?
Come singing the victory song of the life,
in new tune and melody through Your own mouth.
