Today I recall long-lost days.
Today, with bygone days springs to mind
At the propitious start of life,
The auspitious start of my life.
Through crying I made Your acquaintance,
By crying I came to know Thee,
My beloved Lord of tiny beings.
Lord of mine, in the form of small things.

See how many days have come and gone,
So many, many days arrive and retire;
How many nights have hidden the light.
And many nights, they hide the light.
Above the realms of light and darkness,
Above the realms of light and darkness,
Stands Your effulgence,
You've remained, abrim with effugence,
My beloved Lord of beauty.
Lord of mine, in the form of grand expressions.

Beyond realization of known and unknown,
Beyond emotions from what's known or unknown,
You always promoted the sweetness of devotion.
There's the sweetness of devotion, for eternity.
Your encompassing concomitance has ever been
It has endured, revolving round Your two feet,
Transcendence and charm,
Ever-transcendent, filled with honey...
My beloved Lord of songs.
Lord of mine, in the form of song.

Aj mane pare harano dinete is the fourteenth song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2][3]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áj mane paŕe háráno dinete
Jiivaner shubha práte
Krandane paricay
Ogo mor ańumay

Katai divas áse ár jáy
Kata vibhávarii áloke lukáy
Álo-áṋdhárer úrdhva lokete
Rayecho jyotirmay
Ogo mor rúpamay

Jáná ajánár anubhúti páre
Bháver mádhurii cirakál tare
Rayeche tomár padajuga ghire
Máyátiita madhumay
Ogo mor giitimay

Today, with bygone days springs to mind
The auspitious start of my life.
By crying I came to know Thee,
Lord of mine, in the form of small things.

So many, many days arrive and retire;
And many nights, they hide the light.
Above the realms of light and darkness,
You've remained, abrim with effugence,
Lord of mine, in the form of grand expressions.

Beyond emotions from what's known or unknown,
There's the sweetness of devotion, for eternity.
It has endured, revolving round Your two feet,
Ever-transcendent, filled with honey...
Lord of mine, in the form of song.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

Oh Lord, I remember the past days. When I came into this world as a newborn child, my first communication with the world was through crying. Not tears, crying. A newborn child does like this [demonstrates]. So the first talk to the world is crying. There may or may not be tears. In the first phase You come to me in the form of so many small things – childhood needs. Then You come in the form of so many big expressions – water, air, sky. And then, in the final phase, You come in the form of songs.
