Beguiling me with Your sweet, loving liila.
Beguiling me with Your sweet, loving liila.

Your charming smile made me become restless.
On Your alluring smile, I brim with emotion;
That sweet gesture filled my entire being.
With Your sweet loveplay, my whole life I fill.
Attaining you, my enchanted heart
Eager is my heart to attain Thee,
lost itself to some unknown realm.
The One Who floats in and out mysteriously.

I do not know whether your divine play has any limits,

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ajáná atithi jánite nárinu
(Tumi) Kena ele ár kena gele
Gandhamadir svapner ghore
Mamatámadhur liilá chale

Mohana hásye udvel kari
Madhura lásye sárá práń bhari
Ucát́ana hiyá tomáre páiyá
(Se je) Kon ajánáy bhese cale

Tomár liilár sheś náhi jáni
Liilámay tumi táháo to máni
Liilár ságare baháiyá dáo
Mor tanu man prati pale

Unknown Visitor,[nb 2] I fail to understand
Why You came and why You went..
Enveloping my dreams with heady fragrance
Beguiling me with Your sweet, loving liila.

On Your alluring smile, I brim with emotion;
With Your sweet loveplay, my whole life I fill.
Eager is my heart to attain Thee,
The One Who floats in and out mysteriously.

I do not know whether your divine play has any limits,
but this much do i know:
that you are full of such plays.
Thus, you make me float on
in that ocean of games
at each and every moment of my life.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In the tantric tradition, the concept of atithi (a surprise visitor) carries special importance. The atithi, the unexpected guest, is to be afforded the hospitality one would render to God Himself.
