Balilám keṋde ávesher sáthe
E vishvás ná kará jáy

Balile e man tomár nivás
Atiiteo chile priitinirjás
Ahamiká ghore dekhini tomáre
D́háká chilo mada kuyásháy

(আজি) আমার মনের আঙ্গিনায়
এসে' দাঁড়াইলে শ্যামরায় (তুমি)
মন্ত্রমুগ্ধ করে' দিলে মোরে
বলিলে ভালবাস আমায়

যা' ভাবিনি দেখি তাই হয়ে গেল
তোমার মাধুরী মন ভরে' দিল
বলিলাম কেঁদে' আবেশের সাথে
এ বিশ্বাস না করা যায়

বলিলে এ মন তোমার নিবাস
অতীতেও ছিলে প্রীতিনির্যাস
অহমিকা ঘোরে দেখিনি তোমারে
ঢাকা ছিল মদ-কুয়াশায়

Now, inside the compound of my psyche,
Oh Dark Prince,[nb 2] arriving, You tarried.
Myself You astounded:
You told that You hold me dear.

What I did not imagine, I see that alone happened;
Your sweetness, mind it filled.
I replied, having cried with a passion:
This just cannot be believed.
