Álo ámár álo tomár
Álo sabár tare
Áloy áloy bhuvan bhará
Áloy áṋdhár sare

Jiṋán bhúmite álo áche
Ajiṋatá avidyár páshe
Mánav mane álo pashe
Dánav sare dúre

Amánisháy nisháná dey
Tamasáke dishá dekháy
Diiper kole shikhá jvele
Ráuṋáy saḿsáre

আলো আমার আলো তোমার
আলো সবার তরে
আলোয় আলোয় ভুবন ভরা
আলোয় আঁধার সরে

জ্ঞান-ভূমিতে আলো আছে
অজ্ঞতা অবিদ্যার পাশে
মানব মনে আলো পশে
দানব সরে দূরে

অমানিশায় নিশানা দেয়
তমসাকে দিশা দেখায়
দীপের কোলে শিখা জ্বেলে’
রাঙায় সংসারে

The light is yours and mine
and it is for everyone.

The whole world
is full of darkness removing light.

Light is present in the world of knowledge,
and borders both ignorance and avidya'.

In human minds,
devilishness perishes
by the touch of light.

Providing beacon light in darkness,
directions become visible.

The wick flame ever burns in the lap of lamps,
colouring and illuminating the world.
