O lord,
In this same streaming light-fountain,
bathing in the fountain of effulgence,
Immaculate, You have come.
You came.
I'd borne the filth of degradation;
Catching hand, You've raised me up.

I was smeared with the dirt of degradation;
In glad times I've been negligent;
You lifted me up, holding my hand.
When in trouble, I've called then.
Profit's joys for me I've taken;
Heaps of sins to You I've given.
Upon Your feet I never even gazed,
But at my face You have stared.

I forget you during happy days
I've always thought only of me;
and call you when in trouble.
About You, that I do not think.

I've floated on a stream of self-seeking,
I take the pleasures of achivement
Not doing any work that's worthy.
and give you the heaps of my sins.
I've taught precepts but never listened;

You've brought me on the path of righteousness.
I never looked at your feet
but you still took care of me.

I have always thought of myself first,
and never thought of you.

I kept flowing in the stream of selfishness,
never performing proper actions.

I only talked and talked
without implementing policies in my own life.

And yet, you brought me onto the proper path.

Aloker ei jharnadharay is the 966th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áloker ei jharńádháráy
Snán kare tumi esecho
Glánir kálimá niyechilum (ámi)
Tumi hát dhare more túlecho

Sukher samay bhule je thekechi
Vipade paŕei d́ekechi
Práptir sukh nijei niyechi
Páper páháŕ diyechi
Tomár carańe tákái ni kabhu (ámi)
Mor mukha páne ceyecho (tumi)

Nijer kathái satata bhevechi
Tomár kathá to bhávini
Svárther srote bhese cale gechi
Sauṋgata káj karini
Nije náhi mene shikśá diyechi
Niitipathe more enecho (tumi)

In this same streaming light-fountain,
Immaculate, You have come.
I'd borne the filth of degradation;
Catching hand, You've raised me up.

In glad times I've been negligent;
When in trouble, I've called then.
Profit's joys for me I've taken;
Heaps of sins to You I've given.
Upon Your feet I never even gazed,
But at my face You have stared.

I've always thought only of me;
About You, that I do not think.
I've floated on a stream of self-seeking,
Not doing any work that's worthy.
I've taught precepts but never listened;
You've brought me on the path of righteousness.
