Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áloker ei púrńotsave
Tumi ácho kena eká eká
Khushiibhará práńe sumadhura táne
Gáiche jakhana pika keká

Avaniir ei padmavediite
Ásiyácho tumi tritápa harite
Shuśka mukule phul phot́áyecho
Dukule pláviyá tiirarekhá

Ásiyácho tumi áshray dite
Anátha jáhárá vyatháhata cite
Asaháy mane bal jogáite
Darpiir bháuṋgi rathacáká

At this total gala of light,
Why do You stand all alone?
With joyful heart in dulcet notes,
The koel sings meanwhile.

Upon the lotus altar of this earth,
You've come to steal our three afflictions.[nb 2]
Flowers You have made bloom from withered buds;
Both banks inundating is the mark of Your dart.

You have come, a shelter to provide
For helpless ones with tortured mind...
To furnish strength in the weak psyche,
Wheels of Your chariot smashing the haughty.
