Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áloker utsáre áloker utsáre
Kuyáshár path dhare
Járá giyechilo dúre
Tárá phire elo ghare

Tumi ácho tái álok rayeche
Tumi ácho práń áche
Andhatamasá ghire phele táre
Je jáy bhule tomáre

Devalok naralok jáni náko
Svarga narak táo máni náko
Tomáy máni he mahájyotiśka
Jiivanárńava ghire

On light's upsurge, on light's upsurge,
Following a foggy roadway
Those who'd gone far away,
To their home they did return.

You exist, and so the light did abide;
You exist, hence there is life.
Those who wind up ringed by utmost gloom,
They move about, forgetting You.

I know not the abode of gods or of mortal men;
Hell and heaven, them also I don't acknowledge.
To You do I pay heed, oh Great Shining One,
Who has surrounded the ocean of existence.
