O dear lord,
My coming and my going
my coming and going,
Is Your pleasure's whimsy, Dear.
solely depends upon your pleasure.
Life and death, my receiving of it,
My life, death and characteristics,
That's not worthy of Your notice.
are not of any importance to you.

For me, my days and nights are too big.
The span of a day is long for me;
But for you, my million of years are meagre,
For You ten million years is scanty.
like a small dewdrop in an unlimited immense ocean.
Boundless and very deep is the great sea,
I have come in the stream of your effulgence,
But it's not even a dewdrop for Thee.
and float with the force of your pull.

I exist in your flow of love,
I arrive on Your current of effulgence;
as if i have no existence.
I am floating, tugged by Your attraction.
Riding on Your loving stream,
Though I exist, no I is there.

Amar asa amar jaoya is the 2026th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámár ásá ámár jáoyá
Tomár kheyál khushii priya
Jiivan marań varań ámár
Tomár tá upekśańiiya

Ahorátra baŕa ámár
Kot́i varśa tuccha tomár
Mahodadhi agádh apár[nb 2]
Tomár shishir vindu nay o

Tomár álor srote ási
Tomár t́aner jhoṋke bhási
Tomár bhálabásár dháráy
Ámi áchi ámi nei o

My coming and my going
Is Your pleasure's whimsy, Dear.
Life and death, my receiving of it,
That's not worthy of Your notice.

The span of a day is long for me;
For You ten million years is scanty.
Boundless and very deep is the great sea,
But it's not even a dewdrop for Thee.

I arrive on Your current of effulgence;
I am floating, tugged by Your attraction.
Riding on Your loving stream,
Though I exist, no I is there.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ This word is sung as ámár, perhaps due to a typo in the Sargam. That supposed error is carried into the latest Bengali text. However, some Roman-script versions give the word as apár; and in context that makes more sense. Hence apár is presented here.
