To find peace, it prays for the dust of Your feet.
To find peace, it prays for the dust of Your feet.

To whichever way I look,
However much I may fancy, without You there is nothing.
I see only You.
From You I have come, and only You I go to meet.
I have come from You,
All Your divine sport, all Your hide-and-seek,
and to You only I return.
Races toward infinity, conveying all conjointly.

All Your divine sports,
all games of hide and seek
are directed unto You alone.

One who remains forgetful of You,

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámár manete tumi sabár manete tumi
Sabái tomár mane tomári sharańa cáy
Uttuṋga giri tomáke prańati kari
Tomár carańraje shántir khoṋje cáy

Jata dúr ámi cái tumi cháŕá kichu nái
Tomá hate ásiyáchi tomáte miliyá jái
Tomár jatek liilá jata lukocuri khelá
Sabáre sauṋge niye asiimer páne dháy

Tomáke bhuliyá tháká nijeke bhuliye rákhá
Andha tamisráte se je háráiyá jáy

You are in my thoughts; You are in everyone's thoughts.
Everyone in Your mind craves only Your refuge.
It seems the lofty mountain prostrates before You—
To find peace, it prays for the dust of Your feet.

However much I may fancy, without You there is nothing.
From You I have come, and only You I go to meet.
All Your divine sport, all Your hide-and-seek,
Races toward infinity, conveying all conjointly.

One who remains forgetful of You,
becomes deluded into selfoblivion.
Such a one loses himself/herself in Cimmerian darkness.
