Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámár ruddha ghare áloy bhare
Ke dilo áj bhore
Tomrá balo ná ámáre
Krśńa masii rauṋe bhási
Ut́hilo ki kare

Ákásh vátás rauṋiin tárá
Gharer báire chilo tárá
Táder hási práńe ási
Náŕá dilo je re
Ámi sáŕá doba táre

Járá chilo dúr videshe
Tárá elo áshepáshe
Táder májhe sakal káje
Thákbo e saḿsáre
Ámi dúrke káche áro káche
T́ánbo priiti bhare

In my close abode filled with lightrays,
Who gave those rays at dawn today?
Would anyone care to say?
Spots black are now aflood with color;
How did that occur?

The sky, the wind, the stars flashing;
Outside my home they had been.
Into my life their brightness came;
To me a jolt that gave...
What has happened I will explain.

Those who were once far and foreign,
On every side they came round me;
And with my every deed in their midst,
Abide will I inside this universe...
The distant, close and closer still
Shall I draw; with love am I filled.
