Áshá chilo tárei pábo
Táhári káj kare jábo
Tár eśańáy egiye jábo
Bhule jábo kaṋdá hásá

Ámár maner gahan końe
Sab bhávanár sauṋgopane
Rauṋ lágáno cittavane

আমায় ডাক দিয়ে যায় কোন অজানায়
কী স্নিগ্ধতার ভাষা
আসে ভেসে' মধুর আবেশে
ছন্দায়িত আশা

আশা ছিল তারেই পাব
তাহারই কাজ করে' যাব
তার এষণায় এগিয়ে যাব
ভুলে' যাব কাঁদা-হাসা

আমার মনের গহন কোণে
সব ভাবনার সঙ্গোপনে
রঙ-লাগানো চিত্তবনে
চাইছি তারই আসা

in what a soft language?
the call comes floating
with sweet impulse and rhythmic hope.
i was hoping that i will get him
and also that i will go on doing his task.
with his inspiration and grace,
i will go on moving forward
forgetting the pain and pleasure
of this material world.
In the deep corner of my mind
hidden from all thoughts,
colouring the garden of my mind,
i had only longing for him.
