Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi tomáy bhálabási
Tái manke dilum jeneshune
Tomár madhur miśt́i hási
Saráy sakal abhimáne

Tumi ácho táito áchi
Tomár manei ghar beṋdhechi
Duhkha sukher giit racechi
Tomár maner phulavane

Tomáy ámi cái jiivane
Áchi satrśńa nayane
Man-jamuná dháy ujáne
Tomár priiti spandane

O Lord, I love You,
that is why I have given You my mind knowingly.
Your sweet smile removes the entire ego in me.
You are there hence I exist
and build home within Your mind.
I create songs during pain and pleasure
within Your floral garden.
I want You in my life,
with earnest thirst in my eyes.
My mental river Yamuna’ rushes overflowing,
due the vibration of Your love.

Recordings

Currently, only the following audio rendition is available. Unfortunately, the first word of the second line (the beginning of the refrain) is sung incorrectly as Ámi and not Tái (which is only tacked on at the end of the first line). This tends to distort both melody and meaning.
