Bhávi tomáy dine ráte
Sandhyáráge rauṋin práte
Áshá bhará áṋkhipáte
Eṋke rekhechi

Mánas jamuná tiire
Khuṋje beŕái prati prahare
Vyatháhata áṋkhiniire
Kena phire esechi

আমি তোমায় চেয়েছি
এলে না দেখা দিলে না
কী দোষ করেছি

ভাবি তোমায় দিনে রাতে
সন্ধ্যারাগে রঙিন প্রাতে
আশা-ভরা আঁখিপাতে
এঁকে' রেখেছি

মানস-যমুনা তীরে
খুঁজে' বেড়াই প্রতি প্রহরে
ব্যথাহত আঁখিনীরে
কেন ফিরে' এসেছি

O Lord, I love You. You did not come,
did not show Yourself,
what mistake have I committed?
I think of You day and night,
during colorful evenings and mornings.
The hope filled eyes I have kept marked.
At the bank of the mental river Yamuna’,
I have been searching You each hour,
with agony afflicted tears,
