Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi tomáy d́eke calechi
Tumi priya dáoni sáŕá
Shunte se d́ák páo ki ná páo
Jadio ácho marme bhará

Marma májhe base ácho
Jáni ná kii káje rayecho
Shunte jadi ná cáo kathá
Tava mamatá keman dhárá

Dukher ráte áṋkhi jhareche
Sukher áloy man meteche
Se sukh vyathá sei itikathá
Shononi shuneche sárá dhará

O lord, i continue to call you,
but you are not responding.
even though You pervade my mental core,
are you able to hear that call?
you reside within the core,
I do not know for what purpose.
if you do not want to listen to the things,
how is the flow of your affection?
in the nights of sorrows, the eyes shed tears
and in the light of happiness,
the mind is intoxicated.
that history of pain and pleasure
you do not listen,
though whole world listens.
