Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áṋdhár ságare patha háriye
Jiivaner dhruvatárá bhulo ná re
Śaŕo timiraságara páre arúpa citacore
Je bá náce áṋdhárke ghire ghire

Mánasavediite rákho tájá phularáshi
Citta te bhare dáo shishira dhaota hási
Maiṋjula mahákáshe dekho tár jyoti bháse
Rúpátiita cinmaya ságare

Kono prárthaná nay kono cáoyá páoyá nay
Dekho táre káchákáchi paráńa bhare

When the way gets lost in a sea of darkness,
Forget Him never, the polestar of existence.
Lo, past the sea of gloom, like heart-thief[nb 2] amorphous,
Who dances round and round light's absence!

On mind's altar, keep a fresh heap of blooms;
Inside mind, infuse smiles washed with dew.
Cross the vast and lovely sky, see arise His luster
On a form-free ocean, personifying Consciousness.

There's not any entreaty, there's no want-and-receive;
Just behold Him very near, and life is replete.
