The darkness is gone and the light is scattered,
The gloom has withdrawn, light-rays are dropping;
now is the time to move forward only.
Now there is just going toward the front.
With fear, the creatures of the dark have become lifeless.
Those who are lifeless, dreading beings of the dark,
now is the opportune moment to sing the devotional song
Tacitly they are crooning love-songs.
in this quiet atmosphere.

do not waste time by looking backwards.
In vain you lose time, having looked behind;
Thinking about past events is useless.
Do not fret about old tales that are futile.
let us move ahead wholeheartedly,
We march onward with both heart and mind;
forgetting desires and achievements.
Forgotten is all desiring and acquiring.
the illuminated day passes.

let us all go with love.
Day passes by in hope of only the light,
let us not sit and waste time.
Upon liking, toward the goal we all hie.
let us row the boat with smile towards the desideratum.
Having stayed seated is no waste of time;
With face smiling, a boat we are plying.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áṋdhár sareche álo jhariyáche
Ekhan shudhu egiye jáoyá
Áṋdhárer jiiva bhaye nirjiiva
Nirváke priitigiiti gáoyá

Vrthá kála kśayo tákiye piche
Atiitera kathá bháváo je miche
Sumukhera páne cali mane práńe
Bhule giye jata cáoyá páoyá

Din cale jáy álori áshe
Lakśyete cali sabe bhálabese
Base theke nay kála apacay
Saháse tarii báoyá

The gloom has withdrawn, light-rays are dropping;
Now there is just going toward the front.
Those who are lifeless, dreading beings of the dark,
Tacitly they are crooning love-songs.

In vain you lose time, having looked behind;
Do not fret about old tales that are futile.
We march onward with both heart and mind;
Forgotten is all desiring and acquiring.

Day passes by in hope of only the light,
Upon liking, toward the goal we all hie.
Having stayed seated is no waste of time;
With face smiling, a boat we are plying.
