Já khushi tá bhávte páro
Jáni bhávcho ná mor kathá

Din ket́eche avaheláy
Kata sakál sandhyábeláy
Kata je klesh saye gechi
Jáno ná ki ámár vyathá

Phul phut́eche prasannatáy
Sonár álo legeche gáy
Se je khara tápe shukiye jáy
Bojha ná tár kátaratá

আপন মনে বসে বসে
ভাবছো তুমি কাহার কথা
যা খুশী তা ভাবতে পারো
জানি ভাবছো না মোর কথা

দিন কেটেছে অবহেলায়
কত সকাল সন্ধ্যাবেলায়
কত যে ক্লেশ সয়ে গেছি
জানো না কি আমার ব্যথা

ফুল ফুটেছে প্রসন্নতায়
সোণার আলো লেগেছে গায়
সে যে খর তাপে শুকিয়ে যায়
বোঝ না তার কাতরতা

Long occupying Your own mind,
Whose story do You study?
You may consider whatever You like;
I know You don't think of my plight.

Neglected, my days, they have gone by,
Many a dawn unto the fall of night;
I've endured so much travail...
Do You not know my pain?

A flower's unfolded in conditions right,
Body touched by golden light;
That flower now withers under searing heat...
Do You not feel its misery?
