Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Árati karite kata d́ekechi tomáy
Áso ni priya kena balo
Kena balo kena balo
Barańd́álá sájiye keṋdechi
Dekho ni cokher mor jalo

Prabhat kusume geṋthe rekhechi málá
Sandhyáraktaráge marma d́hálá
Kata gán geye gechi shońáte tomáy
Shońár samay náhi halo

Ár kichu kahibo ná shońáte tomáy
Mor priiti nite tava man náhi cáy
Niirave maner końe eṋke jábo pratikśańe
Tava smrti álojhalamala

O lord, with waving of lamp as welcome greeting,
how much have i called? but, you did not come.
Tell me why.

I have kept the garland made from the morning fresh flowers,
poured the evening red colour of my heart.
How many songs did i sing for you?
But, the occasion to sing them did not come.

I have nothing more to tell you for your listening.
Perhaps you do not want to accept my love.
Silently in the recesses of my mind, each moment,
I shall continue to draw your shining, and effulgent memory.
