Arúp jakhan rúpe esechilo
Ár keu ki tá dekhechilo
Kalpaná theke sabi jegechilo
Álor ságar necechilo

Kalpaná tumi kena karechile
E sauṋkalpe kii bhevechile
Eśańár chale liilá ucchale
Nava[nb 2] núpur ki bejechilo

Tárpar kata jug cale geche
Itiháse táhá lekhá náhi áche
Chande o bháve rańane rayeche
Virát́ puruś e ceyechilo

অরূপ যখন রূপে এসেছিল
আর কেউ কি তা' দেখেছিল
কল্পনা থেকে সবই জেগেছিল
আলোর সাগর নেচেছিল

কল্পনা তুমি কেন করেছিলে
এ সঙ্কল্পে কী ভেবেছিলে
এষণার ছলে লীলা-উচ্ছলে
নব নূপুর কি বেজেছিল

তারপর কত যুগ চলে' গেছে
ইতিহাসে তাহা লেখা নাহি আছে
ছন্দে ও ভাবে রণনে রয়েছে
বিরাট পুরুষ এ চেয়েছিল

When into form the Formless One had entered,
Was there any other who had viewed that event?
From imagination everything had awakened,
Gamboled had the ocean of effulgence.

Why had You invented, why had You devised?
What had You been thinking by way of this desire?
Through stratagem of longing, surge of sport divine,
Novel anklets, had they sounded?

Afterwards, how many ages have gone by?
In history's annals, that is not inscribed.
With cadence and shape, in jingle it's survived;
This the Omnipresent God had wanted.
