O lord, with the hope of your arrival,
Hoping for advent, an age has gone by,
ages have passed,
Word having given, why did You not arrive?
why did not you come even after giving words.
Dried is the garland, what's the searing fire?
how much the dry garland has created
By the mind it got burned, don't You realize?
flame and heat in the mind,

do not you know?
Why go on furnishing such a declaration?
why do you give assurance like this,
Why oh why do You cajole via hope's deception?
why do you fool me with the delusion of hope.
By a heart unspeaking, despair awakened,
By making me cry on raising disappointment
Made to cry, what's the gain, please reply.
in silent heart, what do you gain, tell me.

Whatever you want you are capable of doing,
You can go on doing whatever is Your wish;
i have no objection.
From me also there's not any contradiction.
for me there is no victory or defeat,
But with no victory nor defeat either,
why do you give me pain uselessly?
Futile anguish why do You provide?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ásár ásháy jug cale jáy
Kathá diye kena ele ná
Vishuśka málá kii dahana jválá
Jvele gelo mane jáno ná

Kena je eman kathá diye jáo
Áshár chalane kena bá bholáo
Maon hrdaye hatáshá jágiye
Káṋdiye kii lábh balo ná

Já icchá tumi kare jete páro
Kona prativád neiko ámáro
Nei kona jit nei kona háro
Kena dáo vrthá vedaná

Hoping for advent, an age has gone by,
Word having given, why did You not arrive?
Dried is the garland, what's the searing fire?
By the mind it got burned, don't You realize?

Why go on furnishing such a declaration?
Why oh why do You cajole via hope's deception?
By a heart unspeaking, despair awakened,
Made to cry, what's the gain, please reply.

You can go on doing whatever is Your wish;
From me also there's not any contradiction.
But with no victory nor defeat either,
Futile anguish why do You provide?
