With new delight,
At the ashoka and palash trees, in fresh jubilation,
In the ashoka and palash trees,
The king of seasons comes today.
The king of seasons has come today.

In the southern breeze,

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ashoke paláshe nava ulláse
Rturája áj áse

Malaya pavane saghana svapane
Phuler parág bháse

Phuler suvás sauṋge eneche
Sakal mádhurii lut́áye diyeche
Vishvanikhile kavośńánile
Práńer pradiip háse

Varńachat́áy tava mahimáy
Dhará bháse ulláse

At the ashoka and palash trees, in fresh jubilation,
The king of seasons comes today.

In the southern breeze,
In the deepest dream,
In the pollen that wafts through the air,
The king of seasons has come today.
Spring has brought the fragrance of blossoms,
Spreading sweetness all around.
In this boundless universe,
In the gentle breeze,
The lamp of life is smiling.
With the colourful radiance of Your glory
The whole world floats in delight,
The king of seasons has come today.
