Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ashrute mákhá manamájhe rákhá
Sajatane d́háká ákuti go
Buk bheuṋge geche mukh phot́e niko
Tomá lági kata keṋdechi go

Háráye giyecho manera máńik
Kabe se áṋdhár ráte
Marmavyatháy cápá vedanáy
Ajhor ashrupáte
Bhúle jete dáo smrtite ná rao
Calei jakhan giyecho go

Bhulite ná pári bárebáre smari
Áshár chalane pásharite nári
Sab háránor vedanáre mor
Sab peyechi te bharo ná go

My longing remains bathed in ceaseless waves of tears,
longing hidden secretly in the depths of my mind.

My heart is broken, my mouth dumb.
I have cried and cried for you,
mind's dearest jewel
who disappeared one dark dreary night.

I have suffered unutterable pain,
shedding streams of copious tears.
Let me forget you.
Don't reappear, you,
who have forskaen me.

But alas, i cannot forget you.
I think of you again and again.
I try in vain to remove you from my mind.
Why don't you come
to replace the pangs of this loss
with the ecstatic joy of attainment.
