Mandákrántá tále nece calo
Man kothá paŕe áche jáni (tava)

Úśár aruńe je bá esechilo
Sandhyátáráy lukiyechilo
Tár priitikathá tár itikathá
Bujhi bá bhulite páro ni

Pápŕi madhute je bá hesechilo
Goláper gáye gál rekhechilo
Táhár káhinii táhár jáminii
Bholá náhi jáy seo máni

আয়ত আঁখি জলে ছলছল
কার তরে অনুরাগিনী
মন্দাক্রান্তা তালে নেচে’ চল
মন কোথা’ পড়ে’ আছে জানি (তব)

ঊষার অরুণে যে বা এসেছিল
সন্ধ্যাতারায় লুকিয়েছিল
তার প্রীতিকথা তার ইতিকথা
বুঝি বা ভুলিতে পার নি

পাপড়ি মধুতে যে বা হেসেছিল
গোলাপের গায়ে গাল রেখেছিল
তাহার কাহিনী তাহার যামিনী
ভোলা নাহি যায় সেও মানি

What for are your expanded eyes full of tears,
O dear?

Where does your mind go to,
dancing on to the rhythm
of the mandakra'nta' meter?

The one coming with the rising sun,
hiding in the evening star,
His story of love, his history,
I am unable to forget.

The one smiling in the honey of floral petals,
bestowing his rosy colour,
His story, his night,
it is impossible to forget.
