Gharer ágal khule dile
Ámáy tomár kare nile

বাদল রাতে তুমি এলে
সবার অগোচরে
আমি ছিলুম বদ্ধ ঘরে
বাহিরে জল-ঝড়ে

সজল ঘন মেঘের রাশি
ঢেকেছিল চাঁদের হাসি
করেছিল মেশামেশি
মনের কালোয় চুপিসারে

জলে ভিজে এসেছিলে
ঘরের আগল খুলে' দিলে
আমায় তোমার করে' নিলে
বীণারই ঝঙ্কারে

O lord, you came on the cloudy night,
unseen by all.
i was in closed house,
and outside it was raining.
the water bearing dense
conglomeration of clouds
had covered the smile of the moon.
they were mixing mutually
with mental darkness silently.
you came wet with water,
opened the bolt of the door,
and made me your own
with the tinkling of the viin’a’.
