Bandhu tomar lagi sajaye rekhechi ghar is the 492nd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2] Though the lyrics may be interpreted in a very broad sense, this song is favored at Ananda Marga housewarming ceremonies for service projects like children's homes, travelers' lodges, and youth hostels.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bandhu tomár lági sájáye rekhechi ghar
Bhuláye diyecho tumi ke ápan ke bá par

Cáṋder álote háse kumuder sab dal
Maner mukure bháse hiyá-bhejá áṋkhijal

Bandhu tomár lági sájáye rekhechi ghar
Shikháye diyecho tumi bhálabásá bhásvar

Malay vátáse bháse káche theke dúre dúr
Sabáre suvás d́hále báche ná sukhii-átur

Bandhu tomár lági sájáye rekhechi ghar
Bujháye diyecho tumi satyai sundar

Abiding Friend,[nb 2] for You we've arranged an abode;
You have made us blind to who is close and who's remote.

In the moonlight, every lotus petal smiles;
Heartfelt tears appear upon the mirror of the mind.

Abiding Friend, for You we've arranged a residence;
You have made us know that love is always radiant.

With a gentle breeze, the dispossessed approach from afar;
A sweet scent pours on everyone, content or distraught.

Abiding Friend, for You we've arranged a domicile;
You have made us realize that only benign truth is fine.
