Be Firm
Be Firm is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. This discourse is the 27th chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 1.[1]

Synopsis
Anandamurti begins this discourse by discussing the first point "saḿyak samkalpa – proper ideology" in the eight-fold path of bliss propounded by Gautama Buddha. He suggests that there can not be any movement unless there is a proper ideology. For true progress and proper movement, we must have a proper ideology and firm resolve.[1]
When Buddha first sat in contemplation, his goal was not fixed. He had doubts and confusions in his mind. He was also uncertain of what actually he wanted. Later, when he sat in contemplation once again, he took a complete saḿkalpa. This time he fixed his goal and determined that he would not break his contemplation until he attained spiritual realization, even if he dies. Then only, Buddha attained Nirvana.[1]
Everyone of our society must have an aim or a resolve in life. Even a lowly person can become great by his determination.[1]
Anandamurti concludes this discourse by stating that without a firm resolution nothing can not be achieved.
