Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhávátiita tumi bhávaloke eso
Shubha bhávanár anubhave
Puśpita vane mánava manane
Neve eso práńotsave

Jiirńa já kichu dáo go sariye
Nútaner álo dáo go bhariye
Ámár májháre dhará dáo tumi
Nava nava rúpe nava bháve

Janame marańe jáni tumi sakhá
Tabe kena more phele rákha eká
Tomár parashe álokodbháse
More náo tava mahábháve

Transcendental One, come to the realm of existence
With experience of benign thoughts.
Into a flowered forest, into human notions,
Stooping down, enter life's celebration.

Whatever is outmoded, kindly do remove;
Saturate all with light of the new.
Inside of me grant Your embrace
In ever-fresh forms and fresh states.

From birth to death You are my bosom friend, I know;
So why do You cast me away, leaving me on my own?
With Your touch, Your illumination,
Take me to Your mahábháv.[nb 2]

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ "At the time of mahábháva, the sádhaka feels the tactual presence of Parama Puruśa and falls down [in a trance state]. At that time, every nerve-cell, every nerve-fibre, and every pore of the human body feels the divine touch."[3]
