Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhomrá bale bakul phule
Tomár káche ná jái
Tomár buker madhu shukiye geche
Jáhá kichu chilo tomár
Paŕlo jhare pare dhúlár
Tomár shrii-sampad sheś hayeche

Bakul bale shono madhup
Bhálabásá neiko lolup
Káche ese páshe baso
Kathá rayeche

Bhomrá bale samay je nái
Anya phuler sandháne jái
Kathá bale kál hárále
Sáṋjher bhay áche

Bakul bale param pitá
Tumi bojho marmavyathá
Tomár páye paŕi lut́iye
Áshrayer khoṋje

The bee tells the bakul flowers,
“i would not come close to you,
the honey within your bosom has dried up.
whatever was yours has withered away
and is lying in dust.
your glorifying assets are lost”.
the bakul says, “listen o bee,
i am not lusty of love,
Come close, sit near and talk”.
the bee says, there is no time;
i shall go in search of other flowers.
time will be lost in talk,
there is fear of evening.”
Bakul says, o Parama pita’,
you understand the mental agony,
i am prostrating at your feet,
looking for shelter.
