Esechile tumi svapane

Ele priitir báṋdhane

Tomáre ceyechi dine ráte
Jiivaner gháte pratigháte
Chot́a baŕ lábh kśatite
Sab uttháne patane

Mor jogyatá tumi jáno
Karuńár pátra je máno
Táito priitir d́ore t́ano
Rákhite nayane nayane

চেতনায় পাই নি তোমায়
এসেছিলে তুমি স্বপনে
মননে যাও নি বাঁধা
এলে প্রীতির বাঁধনে

তোমারে চেয়েছি দিনে রাতে
জীবনের ঘাতে প্রতিঘাতে
ছোট-বড় লাভ-ক্ষতিতে
সব উত্থানে পতনে

মোর যোগ্যতা তুমি জান
করুণার পাত্র যে মান
তাইতো প্রীতির ডোরে টান
রাখিতে নয়নে নয়নে

With You I did not reclaim consciousness,
For You'd arrived in a dream
And went not tied into thought;
Neath liking's binding You appeared.

By day and night, for You I've pined,
Upon life's buffets and reprisals,
With the gain and loss, large or small,
With every rise and fall.

My worthiness You discern,
Who merits kindness You observe;
And so on strings of love You pull,
Ever in sight to preserve.
