Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Dakhiná pavane cittavane
Ke go ele tumi anupama
Madhura hásite mohana báṋshite
Bhuláye dile man nimeśe mama

Tomáre dekhechi shata rúpe shata bár
Cinite pári ni kakhano ekt́i bár
Paricay lukiye rekhecho ápanár
Liilár chale ogo madhuratama

Tomáre herechi girishikhara pare
Niilodadhi niire gahane gabhiire
Dekhechi tomáre maniiśá sánutiire
Áloke áṋdháre phalgudhárá sama

O incomparable one,
with the southern wind,
and into the garden of my mind,
who is that you who arrived?

With your sweet smile and enchanting flute,
in an instant,
You turned my mind oblivious.

I saw you in hundreds of forms,
a hundred times,
but could not recognise you even once.
In the rhythm of divine illusion
You had kept your identity hidden.

I see you on mountain peaks
and in the dense depth of the ocean's water.
I see you on the banks and in intellects,
like the underlying water that drifts beneath the sand.
I see you in light and darkness.
