Diner sheśe ghumer deshe
Astácale ravi gelo
Din phurálo

Sabuj trńa kálo halo
Abujh man tá bujhe nilo
Klánta vihag ghare elo
Khushiir álo kothá lukálo

Jáni vibhávariir sheśe
Úśár álo áche base
Sei álokei pábár áshe
Nisháke man mene nilo

ডেকে’ ডেকে’ আমার দিন ফুরাল
দিনের শেষে ঘুমের দেশে
অস্তাচলে রবি গেল
দিন ফুরাল

সবুজ তৃণ কালো হ’ল
অবুঝ মন তা’ বুঝে’ নিল
ক্লান্ত বিহগ ঘরে এল
খুশীর আলো কোথা’ লুকাল

জানি বিভাবরীর শেষে
ঊষার আলো আছে বসে’
সেই আলোকেই পাবার আশে
নিশাকে মন মেনে’ নিল

My days were spent, calling and calling.
At day's end, in realm of sleep,
Sun went neath Western mountain...[nb 2]
The day, it was finished.

Verdant grass became black;
Foolish mind acknowledged that.
The weary bird entered its nest;
Joyous light, where did it vanish?

I know that at the end of night,
Waiting is daybreak's light.
In hope of gaining that same light,
Mind reconciled with the night.
