Don't Be Afraid is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in Kolkata, India. The discourse was delivered on the evening of 1978 November 11. This discourse is the 21st chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 4.[1]

Synopsis

A person who has realized Brahma (and remember, He cannot be attained through words or with the mind) as the embodiment of bliss fears nothing in this universe. One of the major enemies of human beings is fear. Due to fear much human capacity is wasted and the development of the human personality is retarded. And yet it is not difficult to overcome fear; one has to simply take refuge in Parama Puruśa. I will not say that this is the best way, it is the only way.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that due to fear, human qualities are widely retarded. The only way to overcome fear is to take shelter in Parama Purusa. Anandamurti then explains that the Lord has a special relationship with each and everyone through His ota yoga and He is also associated with the entire creation through His prota yoga. In this way balance between individual and collective interest is maintained. When the number of demons increases in the world and exploitation of the common people becomes rampant, Parama Purusa comes down to earth to help humanity and annihilate the wicked forces. Anandamurti goes on saying that if human beings are to know only one entity, they should know the One Supreme Lord. By attaining self-knowledge, they will attain everything and thus overcome fear.[1]
