Eso káche tumi eso káche
Surer máyáy kena báṋdho

Báṋdho ámáy taŕit kheláy
Púrvákáshe rauṋer meláy

Sab kichuri májhe májhe

Chaŕiye deoyá phuler suvás
Mandamadhur malay vátás
Jyotsnáráshi[nb 2] tárár hási
Bhálabásár svapna sáje

দূরে কেন আছো প্রভু
এসো কাছে তুমি এসো কাছে
সুরের মায়ায় কেন বাঁধো
বাঁধো ছন্দোময় নাচে

বাঁধো আমায় তড়িৎ খেলায়
পূর্বাকাশে রঙের মেলায়
সুখের স্মৃতি মোহন গীতি
সব কিছুরই মাঝে মাঝে

ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া ফুলের সুবাস
মন্দমধুর মলয় বাতাস
জ্যোৎস্নারাশি তারার হাসি
ভালবাসার স্বপ্ন-সাজে

Lord, why do You keep afar?
Come closer, please come closer.
Why bind me with melody's trance?
Rather, wrap me in a lilting dance.

Attune me to the play of lightning,
To a pageant of colors on eastern sky.
A charming song, a happy memory,
Is everything occasionally.

Spreading a fragrance of flowers
Is the gentle, southern breeze.
A bundle of moonlight, the star-beam
Is dressed in dreams of love.
