Dúre tháká bandhu ámár
Bhule ki gecho tumi ámáre
Háriye jáoyá hiyá ámár
Avirata khoṋje káháre

Gulbágicáy bulbuli náhi áse
Phulamálikáy madhupa je náhi base
Tabu ámi base áchi kiseri je áshe
Tumi d́áko káre jhaiṋkáre

Karmavyasta tumi tháko dine ráte
Satata mete tháko kájeri nesháte
Kájeri májhe tava bhálabásá pete
Kájeri májhe khuṋji tomáre

দূরে থাকা বন্ধু আমার
ভুলে কি গেছো তুমি আমারে
হারিয়ে যাওয়া হিয়া আমার
অবিরত খোঁজে কাহারে

গুলবাগিচায় বুলবুলি নাহি আসে
ফুলমালিকায় মধুপ যে নাহি বসে
তবু আমি বসে আছি কিসেরই যে আশে
তুমি ডাকো কারে ঝঙ্কারে

কর্মব্যস্ত তুমি থাকো দিনে রাতে
সতত মেতে থাকো কাজেরই নেশাতে
কাজেরই মাঝে তব ভালবাসা পেতে
কাজেরই মাঝে খুঁজি তোমারে

My Abiding Friend from afar,
Have you forgotten me?
Getting defeated is my heart,
In constant search of somebody.

The bulbul never enters my rose garden;
No bee lights upon my flower garland.
Still, I am waiting with hope forlorn
That, raising a jingle, You call.

You keep busy night and day;
Always absorbed, mad for work You remain.
Amid work only is Your love attained;
So in my work I'm seeking Thee.
